Families benefit from Christmas boxes

The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund would like to thank volunteer Lynn Raath for co-ordinating the Christmas Box campaign which collected groceries and treats for the underprivileged in December.

Although collection at the Lifestyle SuperSpar and Ballito Village Spar was disappointingly slow many families benefited from the donations.

Raath thanked all those who contributed from the general public, The Courier, Ushukela Milling, Lifestyle SuperSpar, Ballito Village Spar, Hirsch, Mica Hardware and Ken Mann of Greenmann Landscapes for their assistance.

“We enjoyed helping with the campaign even though the response was quite slow and the holidaymakers did not appear to be donating once the real Christmas shopping rush got underway. We hope the Orphan Fund will be able to continue with this idea,” said Raath.
