Sheffield braai ends in tragedy

A gathering of young friends on January 21 ended in tragedy when two of the group were found dead the following morning.

Tamaryn Coetzer Walsh (33) and Gareth Kyle (28), both from Pinetown died in what is rumoured to be a drug-related incident in Sheffield early Sunday morning.

It is believed the friends had got together on Saturday January 21 for a braai at a home in Sheffield and that later that evening Walsh and Kyle had left the party for a short while.

On Sunday morning when the friends woke up, they found Walsh and Kyle and took them to Alberlito hospital where at 8am they were declared dead. The bodies have been sent for post mortem.

SAPS Umhlali Lt Col Dieter Fittkau said that the circumstances of the tragedy will remain unclear until the findings of the post mortem are released.
