Fishing fun at bass tournament
The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and BBS Mica are calling all businesses to get involved in the annual Bass fishing contest, which has become a highlight for families from all over the North Coast.
Held at four picturesque dams – the Bells and Essery dams – in Glendale, the BBS Mica Bass fishing tournament attracts both young and old as well as experienced fishermen and amateurs.
The event, to be held on Sunday March 18, is a wonderful opportunity for businesses, both large and small, to promote what they do while supporting a good cause – fundraising for The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.
BBS Mica’s Angie Heppell said businesses could show their support in a number of ways.
Those wanting to get involved without actually attending the day can give a donation or sponsor a prize of any kind for the winners.
For those planning on attending the day there are a number of options.
“You can use the event as a teambuilding opportunity and enter a team to take part for only R300. Alternatively, spend R250 and you can put up your banner or host a table where you can showcase your goods,” said Heppell.
“We need local business to show their support for this event so that we can make a difference in these children’s lives.”
The day promises to be great fun with individual and team prizes up for grabs, as well as music, a beer tent and a food stall run by the Round Table.
Hook, Line and Sinker will also be selling bass fishing equipment at the venue and will be available to assist with fishing tips.
The dams can accommodate 300 anglers so visit BBS Mica soon to register. The cost is R60 for senior anglers and R40 for junior anglers under the age of 13.
