It took a lot longer than expected, but I read the life stories of Albert Luthuli, Kader Asmal and Nelson Mandela (“Albert Luthuli: Bound by Faith,” by Scott Couper, “Kader Asmal: Politics in my Blood,” an autobiography, and “Mandela,” the official biography by Anthony Sampson). Weekend anglers lost out again because of adverse weather with the moderate southerly wind and rain on Saturday then the strong easterly wind that blew on Sunday. It was just for a short while on both days that anglers were able to wet a line. More >>

Another week of hot, humid weather with some wind thrown in for anglers to cope with. As the week passed the sea got better and better until Friday morning, when only a smallish swell was moving towards the shore and no surf at all. Very much like the islands. More >>
